Bihar may get new DGP as incumbent tipped for central deputation

Delhi : Bihar DGP Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (IPS: 1990: BH) is likely to be divested from the responsibility of the head of the police force. Sources say that he may shortly move to Centre. He was appointed state DGP on December 20, 2022 and could have continued up to September 2025. Bhatti had the credit of arresting mafia don and MP from Sivan District in Bihar Syed Sahabuddin and also served as Joint Director in CBI and CVO, Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Reportedly, Vinay Kumar (IPS: 1991: BH) is ahead in the race followed by Alok Raj (IAS: 1989: BH) and Shobha Ahotkar (IAS: 1990: BH).
