Dehradun: Uttarakhand is completing 25 years of statehood. The state government is celebrating this 25th anniversary as its Silver Jubilee year. In this context, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations on Friday. The CM also conducted a mega lucky draw under the Bring a Bill, Get a Prize campaign at the Secretariat. Organized by the Uttarakhand State Tax Department, this event selected 1,888 lucky draw winners. Sonia from Nainital district and Jaspal Rawat from Tehri district each won an electric car as the first winners.
During the event, CM Dhami spoke with both winners over the phone and congratulated them. The CM stated that the Bring a Bill, Get a Prize scheme will continue in the state. CM Dhami stated that this innovation has given a new impetus and energy to the state’s revenue collection. Launched in 2022, this scheme attempted to directly integrate public participation with the tax system. Transaction information worth ₹263 crore was uploaded through 650,000 bills under this scheme.
The Chief Minister stated that this has fostered a culture of tax compliance among the business community and led to a steady increase in the state’s revenue. This scheme has become a powerful tool for consumer awareness and a symbol of shared responsibility. Businesses have also benefited from this scheme. The state government is striving to make the business system more efficient and transparent.
The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new trust is being instilled in the public by bringing together business, enterprise, and creativity. In a corruption-free and fear-free environment, the business community feels more secure than ever before. On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to demand bills for every purchase and play an active role in the state’s development by making transactions transparent.
In this mega lucky draw, two winners won electric cars, 16 won cars, 20 won e-scooters, 50 won motorcycles, 100 won laptops, 200 won smart TVs, 500 won tablets, and 1,000 won microwaves and other prizes. The last monthly lucky draw was held in September 2024. A subsequent mega lucky draw was scheduled for Diwali in 2024, but it couldn’t be held last year. Consequently, the mega lucky draw was held on October 31, 2025.
