Dehradun: The Centre has given in-principle approval for the budget for Jyotirmath (old name Joshimath) reconstruction, but the state government still has to complete its homework on it. The central government will give budget to the Uttarakhand Disaster Department for the work to be done in each phase. In such a situation, a report of phase-wise work has been sought from the state government. In this, the state government will have to prepare a report based on the priority of the work to be done for Joshimath reconstruction.
Even after getting in-principle approval of a budget of about 1600 crores for Jyotirmath reconstruction, the state will still have to wait for central help. This is because the central government has instructed Uttarakhand to prepare a report based on the priority of the reconstruction work.
The budget will be released in a phased manner
The central government may have agreed to give about 1600 crores to the state, but for this the state government will still have to do some more homework. Under this, the state will have to prepare a report of the work to be done in a phased manner and on this basis the central government will release money to the state in a phased manner.
In-principle approval given to a budget of about Rs 1600 crore
After the cracks appeared in Jyotirmath, in view of the danger, apart from displacing many people, a proposal was also prepared for the treatment of the cracks. There was panic in the entire area due to the big cracks in many houses and roads and in such a situation, along with the disaster management department, many experts also studied the entire area and prepared a report.
On this basis, the disaster management department had appealed to the center for help to fill all the cracks in Jyotirmath city and avoid the danger. After which the central government also gave in-principle approval to the state to give about Rs 1600 crore.
After getting in-principle approval, now the Center has asked the state to prepare a report on the basis of priority of the work to be done in Jyotirmath. Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman while talking to ETV Bharat said that after giving in-principle approval, the Central Government has now decided to give the budget to the state in a phased manner and for this, the state government has been asked to prepare a report in terms of different phases for the reconstruction work to be done in a phased manner.
After the Central Government directed the state to prepare a new report on the work to be done with a budget of about Rs 1600 crore, it may take some time to get the budget. However, soon the officials of the Disaster Management Department will meet the concerned officer at the Center and try to get the central budget sanctioned, but it may take some time to send the work to be done in different phases to the Center through the report and to get the budget approved in the first phase.
Disaster Management Department Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman says that the priority of the department is to fix the drainage system in Joshimath city. Apart from stopping the leakage of water, the treatment of existing cracks will also be focused on in the first phase.
