Chhattisgarh: Govt Reshuffles IAS Officers; Avinash Champawat Given Addl. Charge in General Administration

The Chhattisgarh government announced reshuffling of IAS officers on October 8, 2024, with eight officials receiving new postings and responsibilities.

Avinash Champawat (IAS, 2003) will continue as Secretary of Revenue, Disaster Management, and Rehabilitation, while also serving as the ex-officio Rehabilitation Commissioner and Commissioner of Land Records. He has now been given the additional responsibility of Secretary, General Administration Department.

Anbalagan P (IAS, 2004), currently Secretary of Tourism and Culture, will maintain these roles, but is relieved from his duties as Secretary of Religious Trust and Endowment, and General Administration. Instead, he now takes on the additional role of Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection.

Topeshwar Verma (IAS, 2005), previously Secretary of the Revenue Board in Bilaspur, has been appointed as Member of the Revenue Board with the added charge of Chairman.

KD Kunjam (IAS, 2009), formerly Special Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies, has been reassigned as Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management. He also takes on the responsibilities of Secretary of Religious Trust and Endowment and Director of Printing and Stationery.

Ramesh Kumar Verma (IAS, 2010), who served as Special Secretary for Revenue and Disaster Management and held various additional responsibilities, has now been appointed as Managing Director (MD) of MARKFED.

Jitendra Kumar Shukla (IAS, 2011), the current Director of Food and Civil Supplies, will now also take on the role of MD, Warehousing Corporation.

Vinit Nandanwar (IAS, 2013) has been transferred from his position as Joint Secretary at the Secretariat and will now serve as Director of Land Records, with additional responsibility as Joint Secretary for Public Grievance Redressal.

Lastly, Fariha Alam (IAS, 2016), Deputy Secretary in the School Education Department, will also assume the role of Deputy Secretary for the Labour Department
