Chief Minister Dhami’s clear instructions to provide financial assistance within 72 hours of death in disaster, Secretary Disaster Management and Vice President’s meeting with districts

Dehradun. Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given clear instructions to the districts that after the death of any person during the disaster, the ex-gratia amount should be distributed to the affected family / dependent of the deceased within 72 hours. Any kind of delay in this will not be tolerated. If there is some delay due to identification of the deceased or any other reason, then it should be ensured that the ex-gratia amount is made available to the dependent of the deceased within a week. On Thursday, on the instructions of Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman held a meeting with the District Magistrates of all the districts and informed them about the instructions given by the Honorable Chief Minister regarding the distribution of ex-gratia amount.

Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Suman informed that the Honorable Chief Minister has given instructions to take precautions in view of the Orange Alert issued by the Meteorological Department in the coming few days and to regularly monitor the water level of rivers and drains. During this, he reviewed the situations arising due to monsoon through a virtual meeting with the District Magistrates. He instructed all the District Magistrates to assess the departmental damage caused so far during the monsoon period and send its detailed report to the government as soon as possible so that a proposal can be sent as soon as possible to get additional funds from the Government of India under SDRF and SDMF. Vinod Kumar Suman also took information from the districts about the amount spent in SDRF, Non SDRF, SDMF. He said that there are clear instructions from the Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ji that the districts have sufficient funds available for disaster relief/rescue and reconstruction, it should be spent on time in all circumstances. He said that the Honorable Chief Minister is constantly monitoring the situation arising due to excessive rains across the state, and the districts are constantly being instructed by the Honorable Chief Minister to face the challenges of the monsoon period. On this occasion, Vinay Kumar Ruhela, Honorable Vice President of State Advisory Committee, Disaster Management Department, who joined the meeting online, said that there is still one and a half month left of the monsoon period, in such a situation, all the districts need to remain alert all the time. He instructed to compulsorily install signage in landslide prone areas and rivers as well as other sensitive places to create awareness and alert the general public. He said that alertness at every level is very important to face disasters, only then we can reduce the loss of life and property.

He instructed all the District Magistrates that a review meeting should be held every day in all the districts from the point of view of disaster management. Also, a WhatsApp group should be created for school and college students, as well as traders. On this occasion, ACEO Administration / Additional Secretary Anand Swaroop, ACEO Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Dr. Pooja Rana, Rohit Kumar, Hemant Bisht, Dr. Vedika Pant, Mrs. Tandrila Sarkar etc. were present.

There will be a rescue vehicle in every tehsil Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman also took information about the Quick Response Teams formed in the districts. He said that as per the expectations of the Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a meeting should be held at the district level on 01, 11 and 21 of every month and its minutes should be shared with USDMA. He also directed to purchase a rescue vehicle for every tehsil, which will be used for relief and rescue operations during disasters.

Government of India team will come soon, instructions for preparation

Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman said that soon a seven-member team of the Government of India is going to come to take stock of the damage caused by heavy rains and disaster in the state. He has instructed all the District Magistrates to make all the preparations in advance, so that the actual status of the damage caused by the disaster can be placed before the Government of India. He said that this visit of the officials of the Government of India is very important, because on this basis the amount will be received from the Government of India for compensation. Officers should be alert on release of water from Tehri Dam

Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Nod Kumar Suman said that water is being released from Tehri Dam these days. He directed the District Magistrate of Tehri to inform Dehradun and Haridwar district about the release of water on time. Along with this, he directed Dehradun and Haridwar district to continuously monitor the water level of river Ganga and take protective steps as required.

SDMA’s goal is to send alert to every person

Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation also took information from the districts about the damage caused so far during the monsoon period. He asked about loss of life, animal loss, damage to buildings and inquired about the amount distributed to the disaster affected. He said that there are clear instructions from Honorable Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami that there should be no delay at all in the distribution of unnecessarily assistance. Along with this, he took information about the broadcast of various alerts and warnings being sent from the State Emergency Operations Center through WhatsApp group created at the district level. He said that in the WhatsApp group
