Chief Minister hands over appointment letters to 178 UKPSC selected candidates, says 26.50 thousand youth have received jobs

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has selected 178 candidates for the departments of Finance and Statistics, Agriculture and Horticulture, and Women Empowerment and Child Development. A program was organized to hand over appointment letters to all selected candidates, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented appointment letters to all 178 selected candidates, including 117 from the Department of Finance and Statistics, 12 from the Agriculture Department, 30 from the Horticulture Department, and 19 from the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department.

Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, CM Dhami said that by discharging their duties with honesty, integrity, and dedication, they will play a crucial role in realizing Uttarakhand’s resolve to become a developed, self-reliant, and one of the leading states in the country.

He also stated that quality, reliable, and timely data is the foundation for effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of schemes. The Department of Economics and Statistics plays a crucial role as the nodal department for data collection and analysis in the state.

He urged Assistant Statistical Officers to assess the impact of all government schemes and policies and provide real-time feedback to the system, so that necessary reform measures can be taken in a timely manner. The Chief Minister stated that over 26,500 youth have been provided government service opportunities through a transparent process in the last four and a half years, which is more than double the number achieved during the tenure of previous governments since the state’s formation.

He stated that the government has cracked down on counterfeiting and implemented strict anti-counterfeiting laws, ensuring transparency, speed, and reliability in recruitment processes. Additionally, schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, the new Startup and Entrepreneurship Policy, the new Tourism Policy, agriculture and fruit production, and homestays have created employment and self-employment opportunities in the state, leading to an increase in reverse migration figures in the state.
