Chief Minister holds review meeting with public representatives on new GST rates and Swadeshi Abhiyan

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted virtually with state ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives on Sunday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the new GST rates will be effective nationwide from September 22nd. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for this historic decision.

The Chief Minister stated that a comprehensive public awareness campaign will be launched in the state to ensure that the benefits of the new rates reach the general public and the business community quickly. He called upon all public representatives to conduct awareness programs in their respective areas from September 22nd to 29th. During this period, ministers in charge will lead the campaign in their respective districts, and MLAs in their respective constituencies.

The Chief Minister stated that the GST… The revised rates will strengthen the state’s economy and accelerate the state’s progress towards “Vocal for Local” and “Local to Global.” The Chief Minister stated that the new tax structure will promote Uttarakhand’s umbrella brand “House of Himalayas” and 27 GI-tagged products, the One District Two Product Scheme, and other local handicrafts and agricultural products. This will increase self-employment opportunities and contribute to the realization of the vision of a self-reliant Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister urged all departments and bodies to make continuous efforts to ensure the success of this campaign. He stated that meetings should be held at the Gram Sabha and Municipal body levels, providing detailed information to both rural and urban residents. The Industry Department was also directed to ensure that GI-tagged products and the “One District Two Product” scheme are further strengthened and market-oriented.

The Chief Minister emphasized that awareness campaigns should not be limited to mere publicity, but should also ensure public participation and public involvement. For this purpose, street plays, folk songs, and other cultural mediums will be used to ensure the message reaches the public easily and effectively. He stated that various media platforms will also be used to disseminate information to both citizens and businesses.

The Chief Minister stated that the implementation of the new GST rates will not only promote ease of doing business but will also benefit both consumers and producers. This will bring transparency to local productivity and marketing processes, and will enable small entrepreneurs to connect with the national and global markets.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his expectation from all public representatives that they themselves should play an active role in this campaign and transform it into a public movement. He stated that every citizen’s contribution is crucial in enhancing the economic strength of the country and the state.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal gave detailed information about the benefits that the new GST rates will bring to the common man and businessmen. Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Mrs. Rekha Arya, MLAs and other public representatives were present in the meeting.
