Dehradun: Amidst the ongoing heavy rainfall and grave disaster situation in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the sacred Dhari Devi Temple in Pauri district today. The Chief Minister visited the Dhari Devi Temple in Pauri district on Saturday after inspecting the disaster-affected areas in Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.
The Chief Minister bowed at the feet of Maa Dhari Devi and performed special prayers for the safety, health, happiness, prosperity, and relief from natural disasters for the people of the state. He said, “Maa Dhari Devi is the deity of the state, and I have come to her feet with the well-being of entire Uttarakhand in this hour of crisis.”
After the prayers, the Chief Minister interacted with local citizens, traders, pilgrims, and temple committee officials in the temple premises. He inquired about the problems faced by the people in the area and assured them that the state government is continuously striving to provide relief to all those in need.
Devotees praised the Chardham Yatra management, stating that the government’s arrangements despite the disaster are highly commendable. Santosh Pathak, a devotee from Indore, described the Chief Minister as the “Hindu Hriday Samrat” and said, “The sensitivity and leadership with which the Chief Minister is working during this disaster is inspiring.”
The Chief Minister inspected the temple complex and the Alaknanda River bank and issued clear instructions to begin construction of concrete protective walls on both banks of the river to prevent soil erosion. He directed officials to ensure no compromise on safety standards and to ensure quality and transparency in the work.
The State Government Stands Shoulder to Shoulder with the Victims
The Chief Minister stated that in this difficult time of disaster, the state government stands with every affected person. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing. He stated, “Our resolve is to reach out to every victim, understand their needs, and help them return to normal life.”
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Asha Nautiyal (Kedarnath), MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary (Rudraprayag), District Magistrate Mrs. Swati S. Bhadoria, Senior Superintendent of Police Lokeshwar Singh, Additional District Magistrate Anil Garbyal, Joint Magistrate Dikshita Joshi along with other officers and dignitaries were present.
