Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a detailed review meeting on the “Sharda Corridor Development Project” at his camp office in Khatima, Lohiahead. During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all project-related work is in accordance with public expectations and local beliefs. The objective of the Sharda Corridor Development Project is to comprehensively develop an area of approximately 200 square kilometers, making it strong and attractive from religious, cultural, tourism, and environmental perspectives.
The Chief Minister reviewed in detail the progress of 38 major projects proposed under the project and directed officials to ensure timely, quality, and transparent completion. These works include the redevelopment of Sharda Ghat, City Drainage Plan-1, the restoration of the Rankochi Mata Temple, the development of a heliport in Banbasa, the construction of the Chuka to Chalthi mountain bike trail, the development of the International Border Market in Banbasa, the beautification of the Shraddha Path riverbank, the master plan for the Sharda Riverfront, and the creation of aerosports facilities.
The Chief Minister directed that land acquisition and transfer works be completed expeditiously and on priority. He also stressed the need to ensure that all construction works are executed within the stipulated timeframe.
Chief Minister Dhami said that environmental protection should be given top priority in all construction works, and that the design and structure should be prepared in accordance with the traditional culture and architectural style of the region. He also directed the executing agency to establish a local office in the area to expedite construction work and avoid unnecessary delays.
The Chief Minister informed that in the future, work will also be done towards the development of the Vivekananda Circuit in Lohaghat and the development of Maa Varahi Dham as a spiritual zone. Apart from this, instructions were also given to develop the area as a destination wedding hub and to develop a “Shaurya Sthal” in honour of the brave martyrs of the Army, Police and Paramilitary forces.
