Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while wishing the people of the state on Harela festival, said that this festival is a symbol of the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand and our tradition of environmental conservation. Harela not only gives the message of greenery and prosperity, but also makes us aware of the care of the environment.
The Chief Minister said that Harela festival inspires us to take care of our earth and environment. Tree plantation and environmental conservation are very important to give a clean and healthy environment to the coming generations. Global warming is a serious problem at present, Harela festival also gives the message of reducing its effects. He called upon all the people of the state to plant as many trees as possible and contribute to environmental conservation. The Chief Minister has also appealed to all social organizations and institutions for cooperation, calling public participation important in this direction.
He said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is famous for its religion, spirituality and culture. The natural beauty and biodiversity here attract tourists. Therefore, our responsibility towards environmental conservation increases further. We have to make continuous efforts for the revival and conservation of our water sources, rivers and streams.
The Chief Minister said that our folk festivals are the identity of our cultural heritage. We all have to make collective efforts to preserve and promote the rich folk culture of the state. Only then will we be able to stay connected to our cultural and traditional roots and pass it on to the next generation. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also appealed to the people of the state to be aware of environmental conservation and make it a part of their lifestyle.
