Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has remembered Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant on his birth anniversary. In his message issued on the eve of Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Jayanti, the Chief Minister described him as a great freedom fighter, patriot, social worker and efficient administrator. He said that Pt. Pant, along with giving a new direction to the country, played an important role in eradicating these evils prevalent in the society by fighting decisively for the abolition of the coolie begar system and zamindari system.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he has also played an important role in establishing Hindi as the official language and in the creation of modern India as the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Home Minister of the country. Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant’s inspirational leadership will always be inspirational for the countrymen.
