Dehradun: A high-level committee meeting was held today at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. In the meeting, the Drinking Water Corporation approved various sewer line projects in the state.
The Chief Secretary inquired from officials in detail about the status of sewer lines in Dehradun city. He directed them to prepare a plan and prioritize the coverage of areas not covered by sewer lines in Dehradun.
The CS called for mapping the entire Dehradun area and setting priorities. He stated that providing last-mile sewer line connectivity throughout Dehradun should be our goal.
During the meeting, the Durga City Square to Kaladhungi Road Trunk Sewerage Scheme on Atal Marg (Nawabi Road) in Haldwani, costing ₹948.94 lakh, and the sewerage network work in Saket Colony, Canal Road, in Dehradun, costing ₹905.80 lakh, were recommended. Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Dr. V. Shanmugam, and senior officials from the Drinking Water Department were present on the occasion.
