Chief Secretary chairs Expenditure Finance Committee meeting to review departmental proposals

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan chaired a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee at the Secretariat on Friday to review proposals from various departments. During the meeting, proposals from various departments were approved.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure that work related to the Nanda Rajjat ​​Yatra is completed within the stipulated timeframe. He urged that all work be completed before the start of the Yatra.

While reviewing proposals related to the Sharda Ghat redevelopment, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of prioritizing indigenous materials for beautification and other works. He also emphasized the need for new technologies to be used in projects related to the construction of the ghats, including minimal maintenance techniques. He stated that the walkways constructed on the ghats can be kept cool by planting grass and other natural materials.

The Chief Secretary stated that replacing foreign materials with indigenous materials will also reduce project costs. If it is necessary to use such material, its logical justification should also be presented to the committee.

Present on this occasion were Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, and Additional Secretary Dr. Ahmed Iqbal, along with senior officials from the concerned departments.
