Chief Secretary held a meeting of officials regarding Kumbh, said – present the complete action plan of Kumbh 2027 by the end of August

Dehradun: Meetings of the High Powered Committee and Expenditure Finance Committee for the works related to Kumbh Mela were held in the Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed that along with quality, special attention should be paid to greenery in the construction of ghats. Provision of greenery should be made wherever possible.

Present the complete action plan of Kumbh 2027 by the end of August: Chief Secretary

The Chief Secretary directed the Mela Adhikari to present the complete action plan of Kumbh 2027 by the end of August. He said that keeping such works which have to be done in every situation as the highest priority, an action plan should be presented soon along with a comprehensive list of all types of works of permanent and temporary nature.

All the bridges in the Kumbh area should be immediately audited

The Chief Secretary has directed that the security check of the bridges in the Kumbh area should be done immediately. He said that the circulation plan of the entire Kumbh area should also be prepared compulsorily. He said that plans should be prepared according to the maximum crowd of devotees during special festivals. He said that plans should be prepared for entry and exit at every point.

The Chief Secretary said that communication should be done with the Railway Ministry for capacity development and beautification of railway stations in the Kumbh area and surrounding areas. He said that holding areas should be prepared in railway stations during heavy crowd in the fair area. The Chief Secretary has instructed to identify new parking areas in the Kumbh area and prepare them from now onwards. He also said that preparations should be made from now onwards for renting parking spaces on private land during Kumbh and talks should be held with the land owners from now onwards.

The Chief Secretary said that the stairs near the ghats should be kept as per the standard so that the devotees do not face problems in climbing and descending the stairs. He has also instructed to keep provision of changing rooms and benches for sitting etc. near the ghats. The Chief Secretary said that necessary steps should be taken to complete the construction of the ghats in a timely manner, so that all the work can be completed on time during the closure of the canals. The following proposals were recommended in the Expenditure Finance Committee

The Expenditure Finance Committee recommended the works of the Public Works Department and Irrigation Department, which includes the work of widening and strengthening of the road from Bahadrabad Sidkul four lane road (Bhaichara Dhaba) to Shivalik Nagar Chowk (BHEL Madhya Marg) via BHEL Barrier No. 6 in Haridwar district, widening and strengthening of the road in 1.50 lanes from Patanjali Yogpeeth on Delhi-Haridwar-Dehradun National Highway No. 334 via Sahdevpur, Dinarpur, Subhashgarh to Ferupur on Purkaji-Laksar-Jwalapur National Highway No. 334A, including a total of 02 works of the Irrigation Department, which includes construction of a 600 meter ghat from Amarpur Ghat to Rishikul Bridge on the left bank of the Upper Ganga Canal and construction of ghats on the left side of the Upper Ganga Canal from Rishikul Bridge to Sakshi Satnam Ghat.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Mr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Mr. Shailesh Bagauli, Mr. Nitesh Kumar Jha, IG Dr. Nilesh Anand Bharane, Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Dr. V. Shanmugam, Commissioner Garhwal Mr. Vinay Kumar Pandey and Mela Adhikari Mrs. Sonika along with other senior officers were present.
