Chief Secretary Held a Review Meeting with IMA and Health Department Officials

Dehradun: A review meeting regarding the development of health facilities in the state was held in the Secretariat Auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan with officials from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Health Department.

At the meeting, IMA members shared valuable suggestions regarding the expansion and improvement of health facilities in the state.

IMA members stated that most areas of Uttarakhand fall in the remote category, making the development of health facilities here challenging. To address this, they suggested relaxing the standards under the Clinical Establishment Act for establishing clinics/nursing homes with less than 50 beds to improve health facilities in the state.

They called for simplifying the procedures for registration, construction of clinic buildings, and various clearances (registration, fire, pollution, etc.) for establishing clinics.

IMA members also suggested adopting simplified standards for the development of health facilities in other states.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary directed the Health Secretary to take serious note of the suggestions made by the IMA members regarding the improvement of health facilities in the state and to take action to incorporate those suggestions that are practical and timely into the bylaws.

He directed that further action be taken in coordination with the IMA members.

Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, IMA President Uttarakhand Dr. K.K. Sharma and Secretary Dr. D.D. Chaudhary, Additional Secretary Santosh Badoni, DG Health Sunita Tamta, and other relevant officials were present at the meeting.
