Chief Secretary holds meeting with Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), detailed discussion held on issues and projects related to Northern Railway

Dehradun: A meeting was held at the Chief Secretary’s office under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan with the Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway Moradabad, Smt. Vineeta Srivastava. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on issues and projects related to Northern Railway.

The Chief Secretary has directed the District Magistrate Dehradun to conduct a joint survey with the Railway, Chief Wildlife Warden, and Rajaji National Park regarding 3.62 hectares of forest land of Rajaji National Park and the Forest Department under the Rishikesh-Doiwala bypass railway line project and submit the inspection report to the government.

The Chief Secretary directed that the final location survey of the Dehradun-Mohand-Saharanpur tunnel-based railway line project be conducted and the updated status be informed soon. He also asked the Railways to share the master plan for the expansion of Harrawala railway station with the government. He said that the Railways and the district administration should conduct a joint survey and provide the inspection report to the government soon. The Chief Secretary instructed railway officials to collaborate with the District Magistrate of Haridwar, the Senior Superintendent of Police of Haridwar, the Mela Officer, and the Government Railway Police (GRP) to prepare a joint traffic plan to ensure smooth traffic management and convenient travel for devotees during the Kumbh Mela in 2027. He also directed that the slope stabilization work near the Haridwar railway tunnel be completed expeditiously and a report on the action taken be submitted to the government.

Present on the occasion were Secretary Transport Brijesh Kumar Sant, Additional Secretary Mrs. Reena Joshi, and other senior railway officials.
