Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed various issues through video conferencing organized with District Magistrates in the Secretariat on Friday and gave guidelines.
The Chief Secretary has instructed all the District Magistrates to listen to the problems of the common people and pay special attention to their resolution. He said that the Electricity Department, Drinking Water Department and other such departments which provide civil services must visit their areas of work. He has instructed the departments to immediately get the work of repairing the crooked electric poles, hanging wires and broken drinking water pipelines done. He said that until the officers do not come to the field, they will not be aware of the problems of the common people. He has instructed all the officers to visit the field regularly.
The Chief Secretary also inquired about the progress of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) registration in all the districts. He said that awareness programmes should be conducted so that maximum number of people register their marriages. He said that pending cases of registration should be resolved speedily. He has also given instructions to conduct special campaigns for registration in plain districts.
The Chief Secretary said that it is often seen that such marriage registrations, in which both husband and wife or one of them was a minor at the time of marriage, but at present both have become adults at the time of registration, are being rejected, which is wrong. He stressed that such marriage cases should also be registered.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) district wise and took information about the updated status of each centre from each district. He directed to expedite the work of setting up ‘Block Public Health Units’ at the block level. He said that the block public health units should be activated by ensuring the arrangement of equipment in the units where construction work has been completed.
On this occasion, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Secretary Mrs. Ranjana Rajguru, Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Manuj Goyal, Additional Secretary Home Mrs. Nivedita Kukreti and other senior officers were present.
