Chief Secretary Radha Raturi gave necessary instructions to the officers regarding various protective and reconstruction works to be done under SDRF.

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has strictly instructed the officers to give priority to timeliness along with high quality in various protective and reconstruction works to be done under SDRF (State Disaster Reduction Fund). CS Raturi has given instructions to do regular channelization of rivers along with flood protection works. While giving instructions to give top priority to the safety of the population in risky areas, the Chief Secretary has asked to ensure the safety of embankments and take immediate action at the erosion sites. She also gave instructions for regular inspection by the officers at the ground level.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has approved protective works of damaged Kedarnath foot path under State Disaster Reduction Fund, erosion protection scheme from Madhuganga river in Bedula Timli Tok and Saruna villages of Ukhimath in Rudraprayag, protection scheme for prevention of land subsidence and landslide on Vaij-Karokhi motor road near residential colony of Paij village of Ukhimath, erosion protection scheme from landslide and Akash Kamini river near Government E College Vaida, erosion protection scheme from Patigad and right bank of Mandakini river of Sitapur Bazar, flood protection works at power house on left bank of Son river in Sonprayag, protective works of schemes constructed down stream at the confluence of Son and Mandakini rivers in Sonprayag, erosion protection scheme from Kupda Gadera of Mongoli residential colony of Ukhimath, protective works for saving population in Banas village of Barkot in Uttarkashi, Nirmal Nagar in Sitarganj of Udham Singh Nagar Approval was given to various proposals like flood protection plan to protect from flood of Bagul river.

Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Dr. R Rajesh Kumar, Vinod Kumar Suman along with Public Works Department and Irrigation Department officials and District Magistrate Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar were present in the meeting of the State Executive Committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi for approval of proposals of State Disaster Reduction Fund in the Secretariat.
