Chief Secretary Radha Raturi released the annual report of Uttarakhand Gramin Bank

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that banks should participate more and more in the social security schemes run by the Government of India and the State Government so that more and more people of the state can get the benefit of these schemes. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi released the annual report of Uttarakhand Gramin Bank for the financial year 2023-24 at the Secretariat.

The Chief Secretary said that Uttarakhand Gramin Bank’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction is commendable. The bank has done really commendable work in social security sourcing and claims along with being ranked among the top banks in the state in NRLM credit linkage and PMFME. The bank’s continuous efforts to empower micro enterprises through PMFME and ensure a strong social security system by supporting rural livelihoods have been instrumental in transforming the lives and communities of the people.

On this occasion, it was informed that out of the total 290 branches operating in the state of Uttarakhand by Uttarakhand Gramin Bank, 219 branches are operating in rural areas, and banking facilities are being provided across the state of Uttarakhand through 624 customer contact centers. Government of India, Government of Uttarakhand and State Bank of India have 50%, 15% and 35% shareholding respectively in Uttarakhand Gramin Bank and during the financial year 2023-24, the bank has earned a net profit of Rs 75 crore.

In the financial year 2023-24, through various branches of Uttarakhand Gramin Bank, claims of Rs 1.44 crore have been paid to 72 people under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Rs 3.38 crore to 169 people under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. Bank Chairman Harihar Patnaik and General Manager (Administration) Amita Raturi were also present on this occasion.
