Dehradun: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has summoned a report regarding the actual utility of all the collection centers across the state. She has sought a detailed report from the concerned department on the location mapping of all the collection centers, their operational status, and their actual use at present. The Chief Secretary also approved the proposal for revision of unit rates for construction of Wayside Amenities and Collection Centers under REAP (Rural Enterprise Acceleration Project). She approved the project of making farmers self-reliant in the production of certified seeds of mountain crops, pulses and millets to the Agriculture Department and directed to complete the target of preparing 400 entrepreneurs in this field under REAP in a timely manner. Along with this, the Chief Secretary approved proposals worth Rs 6033.59 lakhs to prepare 500 entrepreneurs by expanding the global methods of exploitation and value addition of bay leaves in Bhimtal and Okalkanda blocks, to prepare 728 entrepreneurs under goat breed and value chain product development, to prepare 300 entrepreneurs under Doon Silk Heritage Conservation with the help of Silk Department, to prepare 503 entrepreneurs through establishment of mother unit and rearing unit for poultry farming, to prepare 402 entrepreneurs under mushroom compost and production unit.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi approved the proposal to distribute 2400 Pashu Sakhi kits by training maximum number of local women as health workers of domestic animals under the REAP project and directed to complete this target in a timely manner. The Chief Secretary, while approving the proposal for distribution of small and advanced agricultural/horticultural equipment through national tender to 2000 village organizations with the aim of reducing the workload of women, has directed the department to prepare a study report regarding how much the workload of women has been reduced by the distribution of farming equipment. The Chief Secretary has also directed to give priority to gender sensitization in the implementation of all schemes. Along with creating advanced IT infrastructure in the Cluster Level Federation (CFL), he has also directed to provide training to local people, especially women, on financial literacy and cyber security through them.

On Wednesday, the fourth high-powered committee (HPC) meeting of REAP (Rural Enterprises Velocity Growth Project) was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. Secretary Radhika Jha, Dhiraj Garbyal, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal, Vineet Kumar and all Deputy Commissioners and senior officers were present in the meeting.
