Chief Secretary reviewed the Health and Medical Education Department, gave necessary instructions to all the hospitals of the state

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the Health and Medical Education Department in the Secretariat on Monday. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed to equip all the district hospitals and sub-district hospitals with doctors, specialist doctors and equipment. He said that manpower, equipment and basic medical facilities should be ensured in all the district hospitals. The Chief Secretary said that the government medical colleges of the state need to work towards getting the recognition of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. He directed that work should be done in this direction by setting a time limit for fulfilling the eligibility criteria for NAAC recognition. He said that in view of the high job prospects in the field of nursing in Germany and Japan, he directed to ensure that German and Japanese languages ​​are also taught in the nursing courses conducted by the state government. He said that Doon University and other language institutions can be connected. The Chief Secretary said that Indian medical system is very important in the field of medicine. He said that along with allopathic medicine, Indian medical system should also be included. For this, allopathy and AYUSH need to work together.

The Chief Secretary said that there is a need to focus on strengthening the hospitals located on the Chardham routes. He said that such hospitals should be fully equipped with basic medical facilities and equipment. By making these hospitals capable, there will be no need to arrange doctors from other hospitals during the Chardham Yatra.

The Chief Secretary said that telemedicine is proving to be effective in the remote areas of the state. This should be continued further. He also directed to appoint a dedicated team for this. He said that for this, connectivity should be increased in the health centers located in remote areas.

During the review meeting, Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar gave a detailed presentation on the works and schemes being done by the department. He said that continuous work is being done towards improving health facilities in the state. Two community health centers Daiwala and Bhatwadi are being upgraded to sub-district hospitals. The work of Rudrapur and Pithoragarh Medical College is in progress. Along with the recruitment of specialist doctors, nurses and lab technicians, availability of health equipment is also being ensured. He said that by performing well in the TB free Panchayat program, more success has been achieved than the target.

On this occasion, Mission Director Mrs. Swati Bhadoria, Additional Secretary Mrs. Reena Joshi and Director General of Health Dr. Sunita Tamta along with other senior officials were present.
