Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan reviewed the progress of projects whose foundation stones were laid by the Prime Minister on various occasions at the Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Secretary sought information on the physical and financial progress of these schemes under various departments.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned departments to continuously monitor these projects and complete them on time. He said that projects that have been completed but have not yet been inaugurated should be inaugurated as soon as possible so that the general public can get the proper benefit of the project. He said that the ongoing projects should be completed within the stipulated time frame. For this, the concerned departments should work proactively.
The Chief Secretary said that for projects related to more than one department, the departments should resolve the problems through mutual coordination and complete the project. He also directed the Planning Department to regularly monitor the projects related to the foundation stone laying by the Prime Minister. The Chief Secretary directed the MD UJVNL to provide the design and schedule to the Central Water Commission expeditiously for the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project. During the meeting, it was informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for a total of 91 projects across various departments, costing ₹22,015.76 crore, of which 18 projects have been completed. Six have been inaugurated, and 12 are yet to be inaugurated. Work is underway on 73 projects at various stages, with most of them expected to be completed by March 2026.
On this occasion, Special Principal Secretary Amit Kumar Sinha, Secretaries Nitesh Kumar Jha, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Dr. S. N. Pandey, Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar and Navneet Pandey, along with other senior officials, were present.
