Dehradun: An SIT will investigate the complaints that surfaced during the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission examination held last Sunday. This investigation will be conducted under the supervision of a retired High Court judge.
Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, speaking to media on Wednesday, stated that the state government prioritizes the transparency and integrity of the examination system, as well as the interests of the candidates. Consequently, the complaints that surfaced during last Sunday’s examination will be investigated by an SIT headed by an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASI) officer. The SIT’s jurisdiction will cover the entire state. The Chief Secretary stated that to ensure a fair investigation, the SIT investigation will be supervised by a retired High Court judge. The retired judge and the SIT will visit all districts, during which time anyone can submit facts and information related to the examination. He stated that the investigation will be completed within a month, and until then, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission will not take any further action regarding the examination. He stated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty in the SIT investigation. Necessary steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Strict action will also be taken against anyone found negligent at the Haridwar examination center, which is at the center of the controversy. He stated that the interests of students are paramount for the government. It is equally important that students and the public maintain confidence in the examination system.
