Dehradun: Several areas of the state are facing a disaster-like situation following the rain. A cloudburst occurred in Nandanagar, Chamoli district. Ten people are reported missing since the incident, and several houses have been razed to the ground. CM Dhami is personally receiving updates on the Chamoli Nandanagar disaster. He visited the State Emergency Operations Center in Dehradun. From the disaster control room, CM Dhami received information on the ongoing rescue operations following the heavy rainfall in various areas of the state.
Earlier, CM Dhami expressed grief over the damage to nearby houses caused by the heavy rainfall in the Nandanagar Ghat area of Chamoli. He said that local administration and police teams immediately reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. He is in constant contact with the administration in this regard and is personally monitoring the situation closely.
Following this, CM Dhami held a meeting at his official residence. He reviewed the damage caused by heavy rains and disaster relief operations in the Nandanagar Ghat area of Chamoli district. He also spoke with local public representatives and the District Magistrate over the phone.
During this meeting, CM Dhami directed officials to evacuate the affected, expedite disaster relief operations, provide adequate treatment to the injured, and provide relief materials to the affected. The CM stated that the situation is being continuously monitored and directed the Disaster Management Department to conduct an on-site inspection of the affected area as soon as possible.
Since the disaster in the Dhurma area of Chamoli district, teams from the district and tehsil administration, the SDRF, NDRF, and DDRF have been engaged in relief and rescue operations. District-level officials have been deployed to the villages affected by heavy rains in the Nandanagar tehsil of Chamoli district. The following is a list.
Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari provided information regarding the Nandanagar disaster. He stated that rescue operations are ongoing in the Nandanagar disaster-affected area. The administration and rescue teams have reached the scene. Following the disaster in Kuntri and Dhurma villages in the Nandanagar area, the police and administration are continuously engaged in relief and rescue operations. Due to the disaster, roads have been blocked at many places, making vehicular movement difficult.
Despite such difficult conditions, District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari and Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar are reaching the scene on foot. The officials reached the spot and thoroughly assessed the situation. The Chamoli police and administration are working tirelessly to evacuate people stranded in the affected areas, provide medical care, and distribute essential relief materials.
