Dehradun: 25 years have passed since the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, but even today, healthcare facilities in the hilly areas have not improved. Many hospitals in the hills remain referral centers. Although the state government claims to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the state, a campaign called “Operation Health” is currently being launched from Chaukhutia to demand improved healthcare. Amidst this campaign, CM Dhami has announced the expansion of the Chaukhutia hospital to a 50-bed hospital.
Announcement to upgrade Community Health Center Chaukhutia to a 50-bed hospital: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the government is continuously working to strengthen healthcare facilities in remote areas of the state. In this regard, CM Dhami announced the expansion of the Community Health Center in Chaukhutia, Almora district. He announced the expansion of the hospital from 30 beds to 50. A state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine will also be provided in the hospital, ensuring better and faster healthcare for local residents.
Executive agency appointed for the construction of the sub-district hospital in Chaukhutia: CM Dhami stated that the government’s effort is to ensure that the people of the hills do not have to depend on larger cities for better medical facilities. To this end, the Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce Marketing Board has been appointed as the implementing agency to ensure the timely completion of the construction of the sub-district hospital in Chaukhutia.
Government working towards strengthening health services: CM Dhami also stated that the government is prioritizing the expansion of health services. He stated that extensive steps are being taken to strengthen health services in the state. He stated that the expansion of this hospital will benefit thousands of people in Chaukhutia and surrounding areas and will also prevent delays in healthcare.
Kisan Manch Uttarakhand has demanded the introduction of the ‘Right to Health Bill’: Meanwhile, Kisan Manch Uttarakhand has demanded the introduction of the ‘Right to Health Bill’ in the Assembly. The Manch says that free healthcare should be a right for everyone. They say this demand will be spread across the state. If the government does not introduce the ‘Right to Health Bill’ in the Assembly soon, a statewide movement will be launched.
