CM Dhami at ground zero, visited the disaster-affected areas of Pauri, met the victims, 5 people missing

Pauri Garhwal: After visiting the disaster-affected areas in Dharali, on Thursday, August 7, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached Thalisain and Pabau blocks of Pauri Garhwal. Here too CM Dhami met the affected families and took stock of the situation at ground zero.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has not only assured immediate help to the affected family, but has also directed the officers and employees for the rescue operation. Let us tell you that yesterday on August 6, rain wreaked havoc in many villages of Thalisain and Pabau blocks of Pauri Garhwal district.

Five laborers missing: While two women died due to rain in both the areas, five laborers of Nepali origin went missing, search operation is going on for them. While the maximum damage was done in Kyard, Kalun, Senji and Buransi villages of Pabau, the signs of nature’s fury can also be seen in Bankura village of Thalisain block.

Roads also suffered heavy damage: Since yesterday, the police-administration, SDRF and disaster management department teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. It is being told that due to heavy rains, debris also came along with the flood of water from the hilly areas, which not only destroyed the fields and roads, but also damaged many houses.

Most worrying situation in Bankura village: The most worrying situation is in Bankura village of Thalisain block. Debris has entered many houses here. Roads have been destroyed. Five Nepali laborers were also swept away in this area, whose whereabouts are not known yet.

The affected families were shifted to temporary relief camps: The administration said that the affected families have been shifted to safer places, where food, water and medicines have been arranged for them in temporary relief camps. Medical teams are also trying to reach every village.

The National Highway was also damaged: Bharat Rawat, District Panchayat member of Pabau, said that it rained continuously for about 12 hours. Due to the rain, disaster-like conditions were created in the area. There have been reports of casualties in many villages. Apart from this, the National Highway has also been damaged. Let us tell you that after the weather cleared, the rescue operation going on in Pauri and other hill areas has gained momentum.
