Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is moving forward with the resolve to make Uttarakhand a leader in every field. He stated that the Prime Minister’s call for “One District, One Festival” will give traditional fairs held in various regions of the state a new identity at the national and international level.
This will also promote local products, handicrafts, folk art, and tourism. He announced that fees charged for stalls displaying local products at the state’s pavilion at the International Trade Fair will be waived.
Chief Minister Dhami attended the Uttarakhand Day celebrations and the cultural evening organized on this occasion at the Uttarakhand Pavilion as part of the 44th India International Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday as the chief guest.
An Opportunity to Establish Our Culture on the Global Stage
On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the India International Fair provides an opportunity to showcase our culture, handicrafts, and rich heritage on the global stage. Furthermore, the fair offers a vibrant glimpse of Uttarakhandi culture and traditions through cultural evenings.
He stated that significant efforts are being made to develop modern infrastructure in all key sectors, including education, health, roads, sports, drinking water, and air connectivity, to position the state as a leader in every field.
Through initiatives like Vocal for Local, Made in India, and Start-Up India, the state is rapidly working towards realizing the dream of a developed India and a developed Uttarakhand. The government is continuously striving to establish Devbhoomi Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of the world.
He expressed satisfaction that handloom weavers and other product owners at the state pavilion have so far generated business worth Rs. 1 crore and received orders worth Rs. 2.5 crore. He expressed hope that sales of their products will exceed Rs. 2.5 crore. Many dignitaries including MP Rajyalakshmi Shah, Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal, former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna were present on this occasion.
