Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who attended the national convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, said that the Uttarakhand government heartily welcomes all the workers and youth from across the country. He said that witnessing this event brought his own student life back to life. Addressing the youth who had come from Kashmir to Kanyakumari carrying the flag of nationalism, he said that the ABVP has always strengthened the spirit of nation first.
The Chief Minister said that he credits the ABVP for whatever work he is able to do in society today, because the council instilled in him values, a resolve for nation-building, and guidance towards public service. He reminded that this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. For over a century, the RSS has worked tirelessly for social awakening, nation-building, and the establishment of harmony. He said that for seven decades, the ABVP has played a vital role in character-building among the youth. The Council has always championed the cause of education, self-reliance, and nationalism, and has set an example of service by becoming a shield for the common people in emergencies. Chief Minister Dhami called on the youth to devote their energy to making India a developed and economic powerhouse. He mentioned the central government’s major development schemes and highlighted the state government’s achievements, such as the implementation of the country’s first Uniform Civil Code, a stringent anti-counterfeiting law, a law to prevent religious conversions, the abolition of the Madrasa Board, and the liberation of approximately 10,000 acres of land from land grabbers.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to promote winter tourism is progressing rapidly in Uttarakhand. He also shared information about the puja arrangements after the Chardham Yatra, the Kailash Yatra, and the arrival of 5.1 million pilgrims this year despite the disaster.
