Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital on Saturday evening and took a thorough review of the health services, quality of treatment and arrangements available in the hospital.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister met various patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and inquired about their health and asked them about the medical facilities being provided by the hospital. Through dialogue with the patients and their families, the Chief Minister directly understood the quality of medical services and also gave necessary instructions.
In order to improve health services in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital today, gave clear instructions to provide proper facilities for the attendants in the waiting area (Pratishthaalaya) present in the hospital premises.
While inspecting the waiting room of the hospital, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that the attendants accompanying the patients also get a comfortable environment, for which adequate and well-organized arrangements for drinking water, fans and seating should be ensured. He said that attendants are an important part of the hospital system and they should also get basic facilities, so that they can remain mentally comfortable.
The Chief Minister also directed that cleanliness, regular sanitization and painting arrangements should be made in the hospital premises with immediate effect. He said that the hospital is not only a place of treatment, but it is also a place to support the patients and their families mentally and physically, hence its cleanliness, beautification and good management are extremely important.
He told the medical officials that along with the patients, the convenience and respect of their families is also a priority of the state government. He emphasized that every possible step is being taken to ensure that the general public gets better services in government hospitals. Chief Minister also reached Blood Sample Collection Center
Chief Minister Dhami also reached the Blood Sample Collection Center, where he obtained information from the operator working in the center about the process of sample collection, their recording and testing in the laboratory. He appreciated the efficiency of the technology and resources being used in the center and directed for its continuous monitoring.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the hospital administration, medical officers and staff that providing timely and quality treatment to the patients should be the top priority. He said that the state government is committed to make health services more robust and all necessary resources are being made available for this.
The Chief Minister also directed that transparency, sensitivity and quick service system should be ensured in health services so that the general public can get direct benefit from it.
Also took stock of Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during the inspection of Government Doon Medical College Hospital today, also took stock of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk set up in the hospital premises.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister obtained information from the staff posted at the help desk regarding the functioning of the scheme, the assistance being given to the beneficiaries, the process of making cards, the status of the claims of the patients and the facilities being provided to the general public. He also interacted with the beneficiaries present on the spot and listened to their experiences and inquired about the functionality of the help desk.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that the benefits of the Atal Ayushman Yojana reach every eligible person. He said that every person coming to the help desk should get simple, clear and quick information, so that they do not face any inconvenience in joining the scheme and getting the benefits.
Chief Minister Dhami also said that this ambitious scheme of the state government is like Sanjeevani for the poor and needy patients, and all the concerned departments will have to be alert and active for its effective implementation.
During the inspection, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, Medical Superintendent, Senior Doctors, Administrative Officers and other officers of the Health Department were present.
