CM Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the Dehradun ISBT. Displeased by the filth on the ISBT premises, the CM personally cleaned the premises with a broom and warned officials.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his displeasure at the filth at the ISBT on Tuesday. Seeing the state of the ISBT, he took up a broom and began cleaning it himself to show the officials a mirror. The Chief Minister had arrived for a surprise inspection. Seeing the situation, he bluntly told the officials that the arrangements should be in order the next time he visits. The Chief Minister then boarded a bus and sought suggestions regarding the ISBT’s arrangements.

After leaving the Secretariat, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami went straight to the ISBT. His sudden appearance created a stir among the officials. The Chief Minister then began inspecting all the arrangements one by one. After reviewing the intricacies of passenger amenities, operations, and management, he toured the premises and became displeased with the filth.

He personally cleaned the area with a broom.

The Chief Minister summoned a sanitation worker and took the broom from him. He then reprimanded the MDDA officials, stating that such negligence at such an important location would not be tolerated. He emphasized that cleanliness should be visible on the ground, not just on paper. The Chief Minister instructed MDDA and Transport Department officials to ensure regular cleaning of the premises. He directed that cleanliness notices be posted everywhere.

Expressed Strong Dissatisfaction

Management should strive to ensure that travelers have an environment free of pollution, garbage, and dust. He specifically instructed MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari to develop an effective action plan to improve the cleanliness and management system, and then take concrete steps to implement it. He sternly told the officials that cleanliness should be perfect the next time he visits. Strict action will be taken against officials and employees who are negligent.

A State-Wide Cleanliness Campaign to Begin Soon

The Chief Minister stated that Uttarakhand is a major tourist and pilgrimage state, attracting millions of tourists and pilgrims every year. In this context, high-level cleanliness at bus stands, railway stations, and other transportation hubs is a priority for the state government. A statewide cleanliness campaign will soon be launched. He directed officials to develop an action plan for this purpose.

Talking to passengers on a bus, he asked them how Uttarakhand buses are.

The Chief Minister boarded a bus parked on the ISBT platform. He asked passengers how they liked Uttarakhand buses and how they experienced traveling on them. Passengers responded positively, and the Chief Minister sought suggestions for improvement. He also asked passengers about their problems.
