In such a situation, a long range modern siren has been installed in the Dalanwala police station premises in Dehradun to alert the public during natural disasters. Under this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated 13 long range modern sirens.
The state government believes that this initiative will be very important in strengthening the disaster management capacity of the state. During the inauguration program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is a disaster prone state. Where timely vigilance and information broadcasting play a very important role.
In this regard, this state-of-the-art siren system will prove to be very helpful. He also said that the state government is giving top priority to the safety of the citizens. Police and disaster management department are being empowered through technology.
There is always a threat of disasters in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami said that being a hilly state, there is always a threat of disasters in Uttarakhand. Natural disasters like landslides, cloudbursts, floods and earthquakes keep challenging the state from time to time.
This year also we had to face many terrible disasters. In such a situation, the government is constantly making efforts to reduce the damage and loss caused by these disasters. Along with this, it is constantly working to strengthen the disaster early warning system in the state.
The sound of the siren will be heard up to 8 to 16 km away: CM Dhami said that these sirens with a range of 8 km and 16 km will not only alert the public during natural disasters. But, they will also be very useful from the point of view of civil security. Because, people will get warning in time.
This can not only reduce the loss of life and property. But also, relief and rescue operations can be carried out more effectively in case of disaster. These sirens have been installed in crowded areas, sensitive places and disaster prone areas.
Will make people aware with warning: CM Dhami said that these long range sirens will not only be limited to warning of any possible disaster. Rather, they will also be helpful in making the general public aware and ensuring necessary action on time.
At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed all the officers to constantly test this system and make the general public aware about it. So that, it can be used as much as possible in any emergency situation.
