CM Dhami inaugurated Assistant Divisional Office Kashipur, newly constructed Automated Driving Test Track Kashipur, Haridwar and Rishikesh with an amount of 1127.52 lakhs

Kashipur: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Kashipur on his one-day district tour, he participated as the chief guest in the inauguration program of the newly constructed Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Office Building and Automated Driving Test Track organized by the Transport Department here.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building and Automated Driving Test Track of Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Office Kashipur constructed by the implementing agency Uttarakhand Agricultural Marketing Board at a cost of 817.68 lakhs, Automated Driving Test Track of Assistant Divisional Transport Office Rishikesh constructed by the implementing agency Nirman Unit, Uttarakhand Drinking Water Corporation Rishikesh at a cost of 233.86 lakhs and Automated Driving Test Track of Assistant Divisional Transport Office Haridwar constructed at a cost of 75.98 lakhs. The Chief Minister announced the construction of Jayatpur-Dhanouri road with an amount of 1013.95 lakhs. He inspected the Automated Driving Test Track. He took information from the District Magistrate about various public welfare schemes being run in the district.

Chief Minister Shri Dhami condemned the cowardly attack of terrorism in Kashmir. In his address, he said that I pay my heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in the cowardly attack on unarmed Hindu tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir yesterday and express my condolences to the bereaved families. He congratulated and wished all the employees of the Transport Department and all the residents of the area on the inauguration of the newly constructed office building and Automated Driving Test Track of Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Office, Kashipur. He said that with the inauguration of this building, built at a cost of about Rs 4.5 crore, on one hand the works related to the Transport Department will be completed at a fast pace, while on the other hand the general public will also get transparent and technically competent services. Along with this, the launch of the Automated Driving Test Track built in Kashipur, Haridwar and Rishikesh at a cost of more than Rs 7 crore will not only bring transparency in the test of driving license but will also ensure improvement in road safety. Along with this, Chief Minister Shri Dhami has also given the CSR. He also flagged off water coolers and free ambulances for the wards of Kashipur through the scheme. For this, CM Shri Dhami congratulated all the residents of the area and said that I congratulate all the concerned people who brought these two services on the ground.

The Chief Minister said that under the able leadership of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, while on the one hand road connectivity is being continuously strengthened across the country, work is also being done on the target of reducing the death rate in road accidents by half by the year 2030. He said that our state government is also trying to continuously strengthen the road and transport system in Uttarakhand not only from cities to villages, but is also taking concrete steps towards improving road safety. Today, to increase the driving skills of drivers and reduce negligence, while on the one hand IDTR is being constructed in Kumaon, on the other hand, Automated Driving Test Tracks are also being established to make the process of driving license completely computer based. Along with this, a mobile based software (HAMS & Harnessing Automobile for Safety) has been developed in Dehradun under the joint aegis of the State Government, IDTR and Microsoft Company, through which driving license examination is being conducted without human intervention. He said that with the aim of implementing this system in other districts of the state, automated driving test tracks are being constructed at 11 places in the state. Apart from this, a large driver training institute is being established in Haldwani like Dehradun to provide high level training to drivers. He said that to expedite the process of issuing fitness certificates of vehicles, approval has also been given for automated testing stations in the private sector at 7 places in the state. He said that today, the automated driving test tracks built in Kashipur, Haridwar and Rishikesh were inaugurated, where only competent and skilled drivers will be able to get driving license.
