Dehradun: Amid the crisis situation arising due to heavy rains and natural disaster in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today first reached the Laksar disaster affected areas of Haridwar district. Ignoring the difficult conditions, the Chief Minister reached the rural and submerged areas through a tractor and conducted a field inspection and directly communicated with the affected families to know their problems.

Chief Minister Dhami directed the district administration and disaster management officials present on the spot to immediately expedite the relief and rehabilitation work. He said that sure arrangements should be made for the safety, accommodation, food and health facilities of the affected people and any kind of negligence in relief work will not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister said,

The state government stands with every affected citizen in this hour of crisis. We will provide all possible assistance and priority will be given to rescue operations. Every family affected by the disaster will be provided as much assistance as possible by the government.” During the field inspection conducted by the Chief Minister, he visited the villages of Laksar Haridwar and took stock of waterlogging, damaged roads, broken bridges and houses surrounded by water. During this, he interacted with the disaster-affected families and inquired about their needs and assured that no shortage would be allowed in relief work. The Chief Minister directed the officials to: There should be adequate arrangements for relief camps and proper food, water, medicines and cleanliness in them. Families who need to be relocated should be sent to safe places. The compensation process should be started soon by quickly assessing the crop damage to the farmers. Medical facilities should be provided by setting up health camps as per requirement. This visit of Chief Minister Dhami has sent a positive message to the local people and people appreciated the promptness and sensitivity shown by the government in this hour of crisis. On this occasion, MLA Pradeep Batra, District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police Haridwar, other district administration officials and local people were present.
