Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to pay special attention to traffic management in the state until January 5th. He said that the police should deal strictly with those who tamper with law and order, but tourists should not be unnecessarily harassed in the name of checking.
On Tuesday, CM Dhami held a review meeting at the Secretariat regarding facilitating movement, providing facilities for tourists, traffic management, and law and order during the New Year. The CM gave clear instructions that law and order should be maintained effectively in the state. He said that those who commit criminal acts in Devbhoomi (Uttarakhand) will not be spared. The Chief Minister also directed that adequate security arrangements be made at major tourist destinations, high-traffic areas, and crowded places in the state.
Instructions have been given to ensure proper traffic management, basic amenities, and parking facilities in all districts, along with special monitoring of uncontrolled vehicle operation and drunk driving, and adequate security arrangements around liquor shops.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to take full care of the safety, convenience, and hospitality of all tourists visiting Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. It should also be ensured that the general public and tourists are not unnecessarily harassed in the name of checking.
In Dehradun, encroachments on roads where problems are arising should be removed strictly. The district administration, municipal corporation, police, transport department, and MDDA should form a task force to continuously remove encroachments from the roads. Instructions were given to inspect fire safety and other necessary arrangements in hotels and resorts in crowded areas. It was also emphasized that the police must reach the scene of any incident within five minutes.
