CM Dhami laid the foundation stone for the Sharda River Front project, saying, “An agricultural university will be opened in Champawat.”

Tanakpur (Champawat). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the opening of an agricultural university in Champawat district. Laying the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹19 crore, including the Sharda River Front project, in Tanakpur on Friday, CM Dhami stated that Champawat district holds immense potential in the fields of agriculture and horticulture.

Champawat district leads Uttarakhand’s mountainous districts in kiwi production. Good work is also being done here in apple production, the Timur Mission, and bay leaves. A university is needed to accelerate agricultural research.

CM Dhami stated that he recently held discussions with the Vice Chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Dhami stated that the construction of the magnificent and divine Sharda Ghat will enable aarti ceremonies like those at Hari Ki Pauri, and that religious tourism will flourish. This will open up new employment opportunities for youth and local businesses. A new chapter of India-Nepal friendship will begin.
