Dehradun: A public awareness program has been launched in the state to curb corruption and raise public awareness. On Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched an awareness program themed “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” at the Secretariat. This public awareness program will be run across the state until State Foundation Day, November 9, 2025. During the launch of the awareness program, the Chief Minister also administered a pledge of integrity to officials.
Recalling Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man who embodied the spirit of “One India, Best India,” the Chief Minister said that Patel dedicated every moment of his life to the unity, integrity, and building of a strong nation. This awareness program is being organized to commemorate his birthday. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only pledged for a corruption-free India but also worked to implement it. Under his leadership, a new work culture has developed in the country. Governance and administration have been made people-centric to make them transparent and accountable.
CM Dhami said that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, the state government is working with a determined policy of zero tolerance against corruption. Since the state’s formation, the Vigilance Department has taken prompt action and arrested 339 corrupt officials and employees red-handed. In the last three years, the Vigilance Department has arrested and jailed 78 corrupt officials, as well as over 27 others in other cases.
The Chief Minister stated that the toll-free number 1064 is being operated to curb corruption in the state and ensure transparent and accountable governance. Over the past three years, nearly ten thousand complaints have been registered through this service. In 62 of these complaints, trap proceedings have been initiated and four have been investigated. He stated that corruption will not be tolerated in the state under any circumstances. The Chief Minister urged all departments to widely publicize this campaign.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the Vigilance Awareness Campaign has been launched under the theme, “Vigilance is our shared responsibility.” All departments, including their secretaries and principal secretaries, are expected to ensure that corruption is eradicated at all costs. Transparency in work is essential. No compromise should be made on corruption anywhere. Furthermore, there should be no delays in work.
The CM stated that all actions taken against corruption will be further enhanced. This will be implemented as a campaign within the state.
