CM Dhami Lays Foundation Stone/Bhumi Pujan for ₹1.60 Crore Wayside Amenities in Amodi

Champawat: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday laid the foundation stone and performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the approximately ₹1.60 Crore Wayside Amenities project in Amodi, Champawat, his constituency. This project is being implemented under the Chief Minister’s announcement in collaboration with the Rural Development Project (REAP) and the Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce and Marketing Board, Rudrapur.

During the event, the Chief Minister stated that this project is an important step towards achieving “Adarsh ​​Champawat,” which will not only strengthen the tourism infrastructure in the region but also create new employment opportunities for local youth and women. He added that such projects will play a crucial role in boosting the rural economy and connecting local products to the market.

The Chief Minister stated that this wayside amenity complex will provide amenities such as comfortable resting places, clean and modern toilets, refreshment and cafeteria facilities, and a sales center for local handicrafts, agricultural, and forest products. Vehicle parking, green zones, and an information center are also proposed.

He stated that the government’s goal is to establish Champawat as a model district for development, where tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, and local entrepreneurship combine to set an ideal example for the state. The Chief Minister stated that the state government is emphasizing the maximum utilization of local resources in every sector, furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to “Vocal for Local” and “Self-reliant India.”

The Chief Minister also stated that the Uttarakhand government has implemented several schemes to promote rural tourism, homestays, organic products, and traditional handicrafts. He stated that such projects will not only give a new direction to tourism development but will also pave the way for self-employment and self-reliance for the younger generation.

During the program, the Chief Minister, while interacting with the villagers present, stated that the state government is committed to making Champawat a center of all-round development with the cooperation of the people. He stated, “Only through public participation can the vision of development be realized.”

On this occasion, officials Shyam Narayan Pandey, Anil Dabbu, Shankar Koranga, BJP District President Govind Samant, District Panchayat President Anand Adhikari, BJP State Minister Nirmal Mehra, District Magistrate Manish Kumar, Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, along with a large number of public representatives, officials, and local villagers were present.

The program was conducted by the local administration, and at the end, the Chief Minister directed the departments involved in the project to begin construction work in a timely manner.
