Haldwani: The state government is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the formation of the state of Uttarakhand this year as its Silver Jubilee. To mark this occasion, the state government is organizing numerous events across the state. From Dehradun to every district, related departments are organizing programs. Today, the Veterans’ Welfare Department organized a Veterans’ Conference in Haldwani. Approximately two to three thousand veterans and their families participated.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while attending the event, showered flowers on the veterans. In his address, he said that he felicitates the veterans and their widows at this event. Today, on the occasion of the state’s formation, the Veterans’ Welfare Department has organized a veterans’ conference. He considered it a privilege to attend such an event. He said that Uttarakhand is identified with soldiers. He grew up watching soldiers, as his father was also a soldier.
He said that whether it’s the snowy mountain peaks or the valleys of Kashmir, our soldiers have shed their blood to keep the tricolor flag flying. He said that Devbhoomi is not only a land of spirituality, but also of bravery, sacrifice, valor, and devotion to duty. This is the land where every home has a son deployed at the border. He said that the martyrdom of a soldier is priceless, but our government has increased the assistance amount for the family of a martyr from 10 lakh rupees to 50 lakh rupees. He also announced an assistance of 10 thousand rupees for the cremation of veterans. He said that a historic increase has been made in the amount given to soldiers honored with gallantry awards. A decision has been made to provide housing assistance of 2 lakh rupees to war widows and war-disabled soldiers. Uttarakhand is one of the states that offers a 25 percent stamp duty exemption to soldiers on property purchases worth 25 lakh rupees. The Uttarakhand government has also decided to accommodate one person from the martyr’s family in a government job. A military shrine is being built to honor the martyrs. He also attacked the opposition.
