Milam/Pithoragarh: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is in Pithoragarh on a two-day visit. Arriving in Pithoragarh on the afternoon of October 28th, CM Dhami visited Munsyari on October 29th, where he was welcomed by locals. He then interacted with ITBP soldiers and locals in the border area of Milam. CM Dhami served jalebi to the soldiers at the ITBP camp and interacted with them. He also chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai” along with the ITBP soldiers.
CM Dhami shared the news via a post on his social media platform, “X.” He stated, “I met with the brave ITBP soldiers and locals in Milam, a remote border village in Pithoragarh district. The commitment of our soldiers dedicated to serving the nation, even in difficult circumstances, and the support of the people of the border area are inspiring.” During this interaction with the soldiers, he paid tribute to their service and dedication to the nation.
He further stated that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are underway at a rapid pace to connect border villages with basic amenities, provide employment to local youth, and make these areas self-reliant through the Vibrant Village Program.
CM Dhami said, “You all know that our Prime Minister is the first Prime Minister of the country to visit Adi Kailash, Gunji region, Mana region, and Harshil. He is the first Prime Minister of independent India to visit so many border areas. He not only visited, but also worked to boost the morale of our military personnel, paramilitary forces including the ITBP, and all security forces working in these areas. Not only that, you may have even witnessed their Holi or Diwali celebrations. This time, he was with the Navy. Sometimes he is in the border area, sometimes in another area. Every action he takes is aimed at boosting the morale of India’s security forces, and he has also boosted the morale of our villagers in this region.” CM Dhami stated that some border villages in Pithoragarh have not been included under the Vibrant Village Scheme, and a letter will be written to the Government of India after their inclusion. He also initiated further action to establish a commission for the study, conservation, and development of the Malla Johar region of Pithoragarh.
During this period, CM Dhami announced the construction of an indoor stadium at the Johar Club, Munsyari. Beautification work will also be carried out at the Nanda Devi Temple in village Milam. A community meeting center will be constructed in village Bilju.
