CM Dhami ordered SIT investigation due to illegal occupation of forest land in the state

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered an SIT inquiry into the occupation of 35 hectares of forest land in Upper Kosi of Terai West Forest Division. Let us tell you that CM Dhami has taken this concrete step only on the information of occupation of forest land and its buying and selling.

According to the information, about 35 hectares of forest land of Upper Kosi Range has been occupied on a large scale. More than one thousand families are involved in illegal occupation of forest land. Not only this, but they are also buying and selling these lands. This process has been going on for about two and a half decades.

At the same time, DFO Prakash Arya of Terai West Forest Division says that efforts are going on continuously to vacate the occupation of the land. A notice of eviction from the occupied lands has been issued to the occupants under section 151. Necessary action will be taken in this matter with the help of police and administration. Apart from this, the forest department is making every effort to vacate the possession.
