CM Dhami participated in the workshop organized under Water Conservation Campaign 2025

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday participated in a one-day workshop organized under Water Conservation Campaign 2025 at Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, he launched the Bhagirath mobile app based on the theme of Water Conservation Campaign 2025 “Dhara Mera, Naula Mera, Gaon Mera, Prayas Mera” and released the brochure. Through this app, people will be able to share information about critical and endangered water sources in their area. Work will be done by the government towards revival of the sources identified through the app.

The Chief Minister said that Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARA) has been constituted with the aim of conserving the water sources, Naulas, Dhara and rain-based rivers of the state. Last year, SARA has established cooperation and coordination between various departments and has successfully managed to conserve more than 6500 water sources of the state by carrying out treatment works and also managed to conserve about 3.12 million cubic meters of rainwater. He said that on one hand, SARA is making various efforts for groundwater recharge in the plains with the help of Central Ground Water Board. At the same time, in its first phase of reviving the rivers of the state, a detailed project report is being prepared with the help of IIT, Roorkee and NIH Roorkee for the treatment of Nayar, Song, Uttarvahini Shipra and Gauri rivers on the basis of technical and scientific approach.

The Chief Minister said that water is the main basis of advancement, progress, life and development. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous work is being done in the direction of water conservation in the state. Public cooperation is also being taken in this. He said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state is progressing rapidly in every field. He said that this is the right time to take the development of Uttarakhand to new heights in 10 years. He said that the campaign for water conservation will be run extensively from village level to state level.

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi said that SARA has been formed to improve and revive the water sources of the state. Bhagirath mobile app has also been launched to ensure the participation of the general public in Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan 2025. Through this app, the general public will be able to share information about critical and dried up water sources of their areas, so that their treatment will also be possible in time.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said that Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan 2025 is not just a campaign. The water resources of the state are being collected and conserved with the participation of the people of the state. Under this campaign, Dhara Naula Conservation Committee has been formed at the village level, so that the participation of villagers is ensured at every level. Along with this, a phase wise workshop will be organized for the capacity development of Gram Panchayats. On this occasion, MLA Khajan Das, Chief Forest Conservator Dr. Dhananjay Mohan, Neena Grewal from Watershed Management, environmentalist Chandan Singh Nayal, Kundan Singh Panwar and people working towards environment and water conservation were present.
