CM Dhami participates in the 47th All India PR Conference, calls communication the foundation of trust

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the 47th All India Public Relations Conference – 2025 held at Hotel Emerald Grand, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun. The Chief Minister inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp and also visited the photo exhibition organized at the conference venue. He also inspected the stalls displaying various handicraft products, thereby encouraging local art and craft.

Dehradun is hosting the 47th All India Public Relations Conference from December 13 to 15, with public relations and communication professionals from across the country participating. Organized by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the conference is centered on the theme “Developed India @2047: Development and Heritage.”

The conference was inaugurated today, December 13, by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The three-day event will feature expert sessions on topics such as Uttarakhand’s 25-year development journey, the role of media and public relations, technology, GST, AI, cybercrime, misinformation, and international public relations. The participation of delegates from Russia will give the conference an international dimension. The conference will conclude on December 15.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister welcomed the public relations experts, delegates, and young talents from across the country and said that this year’s theme, “PR Vision for 2047,” is extremely relevant in realizing the resolve of a developed India. He said that in today’s time, public relations is not just a medium of information dissemination, but has become an important and effective part of the nation-building process.

The Chief Minister said that in the current digital age, while there is an abundance of information on one hand, the challenge of misinformation is also serious on the other. In such a situation, establishing accurate, timely, and trustworthy communication between the government and the public is the biggest responsibility of public relations. He said that in a state like Uttarakhand, which is prone to natural disasters and is strategically sensitive, communication is not just a formality, but the foundation of trust. The Chief Minister said that in areas such as disaster management, good governance, and religious and tourism management, the future public relations system must be fast, technologically advanced, and sensitive to public sentiment, so that a relationship of partnership and trust, rather than command, can be established between the government and the people.

He expressed confidence that public relations can play the role of an efficient command center during times of crisis, and also make a significant contribution to building a positive narrative for the country. The Chief Minister said that this vision, originating from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, will prove helpful in building a developed India by 2047.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s development journey, stating that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is continuously progressing. He informed that the size of the state’s economy is expected to reach approximately ₹3.78 lakh crore in 2024-25, and a significant increase has also been recorded in per capita income. Along with this, the state has witnessed an unprecedented increase in the budget and a historic reduction in the unemployment rate.

The Chief Minister said that modern infrastructure is being rapidly developed in sectors such as education, health, roads, sports, drinking water, and air and rail connectivity. The government is also continuously striving to give Uttarakhand a global identity as a destination for religious tourism, wellness, adventure tourism, film shooting, and weddings.

He informed that projects like the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project, the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, ropeway projects, and airport expansions are giving new momentum to the state’s development. Additionally, tourism is being promoted throughout the year through the winter tourism initiative.

Referring to the efforts being made to strengthen investment, industry, and the local economy, the Chief Minister said that the state has achieved remarkable success in implementing the investment proposals received through the Global Investors Summit. With the single-window system and new industrial and startup policies, Uttarakhand has emerged as a rising hub for investment.

He said that schemes like “One District-Two Products,” House of Himalayas, Millet Mission, and the new tourism and film policies are strengthening local livelihoods. Uttarakhand’s achievements in national and international rankings are a testament to the state’s transparent, effective, and participatory governance.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed to development as well as the preservation of cultural values, population balance, and social structure. He said that Uttarakhand’s policies and innovations are becoming a model for other states in the country and are playing a significant role in shaping the direction of a developed India by 2047.
