CM Dhami Participates in the Advanced Farming Prosperous Farmers Program, Inaugurates Agricultural Exhibition

Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited his home town of Khatima on Wednesday. After landing at the Lohia Head helipad, CM Dhami participated in the Advanced Farming Prosperous Farmers Program. On this occasion, sugarcane farmers gave the Chief Minister a grand welcome and felicitation for the sugarcane price hike. The sugarcane farmers presented him with a sword and sugarcane to express their gratitude for the sugarcane price hike.

During the visit, CM Dhami inaugurated the agricultural exhibition organized by Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, at the Lohia Head grounds by cutting the ribbon and inspecting the exhibition. CM Dhami stated that his government has made continuous efforts to double farmers’ income, increasing the price of sugarcane by ₹30 per quintal. CM Dhami also distributed checks to progressive farmers, farmer kits, and e-rickshaws to women members of the group.

Welcoming all the farmers at the agricultural seminar, Chief Minister Dhami said, “Farmers are our food providers. If farmers are strong, our country and state will be strong and prosperous.” He added that Pantnagar University is the birthplace of the Green Revolution. Pantnagar University is continuously conducting research and development in the field of agriculture. All farmers should strengthen their economy by increasing production through the use of advanced seeds and technology.

Our government is a government of farmers and soldiers. Any problems faced by farmers will be addressed on priority. The central and state governments are always with farmers. To double farmers’ income and strengthen the economy, the central and state governments are implementing farmer welfare schemes. Farmers should take maximum advantage of these schemes. CM Dhami also appealed to farmers to engage in animal husbandry, fisheries, poultry farming, honey production, silk production, etc., in addition to agriculture.

He said that for the first time in the state’s history, our government has increased the sugarcane price by 30 rupees per quintal to increase the income of sugarcane farmers. In the program, Chief Minister Dhami distributed six e-rickshaws to women of self-help groups under the REAP project, grant cheques worth Rs 49,750 to two progressive farmers of the Agriculture Department, and symbolically distributed kits to five farmers against the Krishak Kits distributed to one thousand farmers.
