Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the two-day Malta Festival program organized by the Seva Sankalp (Dharini) Foundation at ITBP Stadium Seema Dwar, Dehradun on Wednesday. The Chief Minister met farmers from various districts and tasted Malta and lemon products.
The Chief Minister said that there are immense possibilities for Malta production in Uttarakhand. The state government has announced the launch of the Malta Mission, a concrete initiative in this direction, which will promote the production, marketing, and value addition of Malta. He said that this mission will increase the income of farmers in the hilly regions and give local fruits a new identity at the national level.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is promoting the production of kiwi, apples, peaches, plums, citrus fruits, and other local fruits, along with Malta oranges. He said that events like the Malta Festival connect farmers directly with consumers and the market. IG ITBP Sanjay Gunjyal and others were present on this occasion.
