Srinagar Garhwal: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated as the chief guest in the Student Union Inauguration Ceremony 2024-25 at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University Srinagar. On this occasion, CM Dhami said that the state government is fully committed to the all-round development of the university. To empower the youth, it is doing extensive work in areas like education, employment, health and infrastructure.
Unemployment rate reduced to 4 percent
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to take a historic step by implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). In the last 3 years, the state government has created more than 22 thousand jobs, due to which the unemployment rate in the state has been reduced to 4 percent. He said that by implementing the anti-copying law, the government has protected the interests of hardworking students. He said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to achieve sustainable development goals. Currently, projects like 20 model colleges, women’s hostels, IT labs, examination buildings, Astro Park and Science City are in progress in the state. Also, a favorable environment has been created to promote startups.
₹50 thousand is being given to those who pass the written examination of NDA and CDS
He said that under the ‘Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojana’, research grants of up to ₹18 lakh are being given to professors of universities and colleges. At the same time, candidates who pass the written examination of NDA and CDS are being given assistance of ₹50 thousand for interview preparation.
Emphasis on making higher education institutions world-class
At the same time, Higher Education Minister and local MLA Dhan Singh Rawat called upon the university administration and students to improve the educational quality, calling education the top priority of the government.
