Chamoli: On Sunday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Savad village, a military-dominated village in Dewal. Here, CM Dhami inaugurated the 18th Amar Shaheed Fair by lighting a lamp. He was accompanied by Tharali MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, Minister of State Balveer Ghuniyal, Minister of State Harak Singh Negi, and party workers. Upon reaching the Veer Bhoomi Savad, locals showered CM Dhami with flowers.
After paying tribute to the brave soldiers at the Martyrs’ Memorial, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived at the fair stage and was welcomed by the fair committee with a shawl and a memento. The fair committee demanded that the Amar Shaheed Fair be declared a state fair. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the immortal martyrs of Savad from the stage, remembering them. He said Savad is a factory of brave soldiers. Soldiers from this village of heroes displayed their indomitable courage and valor, from the Peshawar incident to World War I, World War II, and Operation Blue Star.
CM Dhami said, “I am the son of a soldier myself. Coming to this brave land has brought back to life the memories of many heroic tales my father told me. The brave sons of Savaad village have always dedicated their lives to protecting the nation.”
CM Dhami said, “Through the recent ‘Operation Sindoor,’ India has proven that not only our soldiers, but also our indigenous weapons are no less than any modern weapon in the world.”
CM Dhami said, “The positive changes taking place in the army under PM Modi’s leadership bring immense pride and joy. There was a time when India was completely dependent on foreign countries for defense equipment, but today our country has become one of the leading nations exporting these same defense equipment.” Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dhami included the six-point demand letter submitted by the Tharali MLA in his announcement, vowing to take immediate action on all these demands. Chief Minister Dhami stated that, in light of public sentiment, the Gwaldam-Dewal-Van-Tapovan motorway would be handed over to the BRO after the Nanda Devi Raj Jat. Additionally, declaring the Amar Shaheed Mela Savad a state fair, Chief Minister Dhami also announced the construction of a road connecting Kapkot Bageshwar via Torti Rampur to Gudap.
