Dehradun: The three-day 71st National Convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad was held in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. On the second day of the convention, a four-and-a-half-kilometer-long procession was organized from the Parade Ground to Darshanlal Chowk. Over 1,500 ABVP delegates from all states participated in this procession. Delegates were welcomed at various locations along the procession route. Near Gandhi Park, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also showered flowers on ABVP delegates, waving a gamchha (towel).
At the beginning of the second day of the national convention, a session was held on the topic “Indian Concept of Education – Current Educational Scenario and Our Role.” Outgoing ABVP National President Prof. (Dr.) Rajsharan Shahi addressed the delegates. Five parallel sessions followed, covering topics such as the global Gen-Z movement and Indian youth, AI chat, GPT, and education, Bangladeshi infiltration and contemporary SIR, population imbalance and the goal of a developed India, and Operation Sindoor and the changing security landscape.
Following this, a procession of ABVP representatives took place on the streets of Dehradun. The confluence of different languages and costumes, yet a united nation, showcased the divine essence of India’s unity, diversity, and integrity. Students from various educational institutions across the country showcased Indian culture, reflected in geographical diversity, during the procession. Furthermore, the procession also showcased the various forms of integrity, embodying cultural diversity. During the procession, slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Bharat Mata is ours,” echoed through the streets of Devbhoomi.
The ABVP procession passed through the Parade Ground, passing through Survey Chowk, BHEL Chowk, Ashley Hall Chowk, and Ghantaghar, ending at Darshanlal Chowk. In the open session held at Darshanlal Chowk, under the leadership of ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki, student leaders from different parts of the country addressed on issues related to Bangladeshi infiltration, education, scholarship, society, Operation Sindoor and youth.
