Dehradun: Finally, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued a statement regarding the long-running Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand. He spoke about the VIP angle and the demand for a CBI inquiry and also answered media questions. CM Dhami said that he will meet Ankita Bhandari’s parents and will conduct the investigation they request.
CM Dhami’s press conference: While public sentiment across the state is running high regarding the sensational Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today presented the government’s stance on the matter for the first time. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a press conference today at GB Ram Ji.
Answered media questions: During this time, journalists also questioned Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami about Urmila Sanawar’s video in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, to which Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he himself wanted to talk about this issue. He told all the journalists to ask whatever questions they had freely, and that he was ready to answer them.
SIT had thoroughly investigated all the facts: Regarding the new developments in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that immediately after the incident, the government had formed an SIT. The officer who led the SIT is currently on deputation to the CBI.
He said that the SIT investigation worked very meticulously on all the facts, and based on that, the court gave the strictest possible punishment to the culprits. At that time, the SIT had also publicly stated that if anyone had any other evidence, they should come forward with it.
Also responded to Urmila Sanawar’s video: Regarding the new facts that have emerged in the Ankita Bhandari murder case after Urmila Sanawar’s video, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this incident involves a conversation between two people. How authentic can this conversation be considered? Several things are being said, and these statements are creating many contradictions.
Two people are defaming a third person in their mutual dispute: He said that this call recording states that Ankita committed suicide, and later in the same recording, it is said that Ankita was murdered. Which statement will you consider true? He said that two people mentioned a third person’s name in their private conversation, even though that third person has clearly provided all the evidence of where he was that day. Despite this, defaming or accusing someone is completely wrong.
Those making the allegations should present evidence: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also said that if there is even one percent truth in this matter, the government is fully prepared for an investigation. He said that those who have brought this new development to light are being repeatedly asked to bring evidence. Their evidence will be examined, and if it is found to be factual, appropriate action will be taken. He also said regarding the SIT investigation that Ankita’s murderers have already received the harshest punishment under the law – life imprisonment. If there were any other person involved in this case, they would certainly have named those people.
Regarding the question of a VIP in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this matter had come up in the initial investigation as well. The police have submitted their charge sheet to the court. Anyone can see how this investigation proceeded.
A conspiracy to exonerate the criminals: He said that questioning whether Ankita Bhandari committed suicide seems like a conspiracy to exonerate the criminals. The way the Congress is continuously trying to spoil the atmosphere in the state, it will certainly be exposed. The person being defamed will also fight a legal battle against the way the Congress is misrepresenting this case by playing with people’s sentiments and emotions.
Response on CBI investigation: Furthermore, the Chief Minister maintained suspense regarding the CBI investigation. He said that he would answer the question about a CBI inquiry at the end. After answering all the questions related to the Ankita Bhandari case, when the Chief Minister was finally asked whether he would order a CBI inquiry into the matter or how the government would proceed with the case,
he clearly stated that he would first meet with Ankita Bhandari’s parents and talk to them about what they want. He would ask them about their demands and fulfill whatever their parents request.
