CM Dhami took a pledge for environmental protection, said- collective efforts are necessary

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while explaining the need for collective efforts towards environmental protection, said that everyone has to unite and think deeply towards the conservation of nature. He also said that environmental protection is in the nature of the people of Uttarakhand.

Festivals like Harela are the result of the far-sighted thinking of our ancestors to connect with nature. The state government is also committed to the conservation of bio resources. Uttarakhand is the flag bearer of the campaign for environmental protection due to its forest wealth and rivers.

In his message on World Environment Day, Chief Minister Dhami said that along with government efforts, the general public, public representatives and voluntary organizations will have to actively contribute to awakening public awareness towards environmental protection and its enhancement. Along with planting more and more trees, efforts are also necessary for cleaning rivers and water sources.

He also called for integrated thinking on the issues related to water-forest-land along with the changes taking place in the environment, increase in global temperature. Only through social consciousness and collective efforts can we be helpful in solving this problem.

He appealed to the people of the state to participate enthusiastically in the plantation and cleanliness campaign being run across the state on World Environment Day. Along with this, emphasis has also been laid on specially encouraging the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign and running awareness campaigns to make Uttarakhand plastic free.
