Dehradun: The 10th Inter-Departmental Badminton Competition 2025 was organized by the Uttarakhand Secretariat Badminton Club. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the competition, held at the multi-purpose sports hall at Parade Ground in Dehradun, on Saturday, December 20.
During this time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is extremely important for employees to engage in sports activities amidst the busy schedule of government work. This is because sports bring discipline to life, relieve stress, and keep the body healthy.
The CM said that being healthy is a person’s greatest asset, and sports are the most effective means in this direction. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence that the inter-departmental badminton competition will continue uninterrupted in the future and will instill positive energy among the employees and officers.
While inaugurating the inter-departmental badminton competition, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself played badminton to encourage the players. Employees and officers from 42 departments of the state are participating in the competition. Badminton Club President Hira Singh Basera said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, world-class sports facilities are being rapidly developed in the state. Players are being provided with continuous encouragement and better resources, due to which Uttarakhand is emerging as a rising sports powerhouse.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is emerging as an example for the country in every field. The state is moving towards transformation and is setting new benchmarks of development through innovations, historic decisions, and pro-people policies.
Recently, the National Games were successfully organized in Uttarakhand for the first time, which has led to a significant expansion of sports infrastructure and facilities in the state. He said that continuous efforts are being made to promote sports in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and develop the state as a ‘sports hub’, so that young talents can get opportunities to excel at the national and international levels.
